Philip I, 244-249. As (Copper, 26 mm, 12.09 g, 12 h), Rome, 248. IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. SAECVLARES AVGG / S - C Low column inscribed COS / III. Cohen 196. RIC 162b. Rare. A beautiful piece struck on a broad flan and with a very attractive green patina. Minor smoothing and with a few faint scratches and minor deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
